The aim is to analyze the urban circular production system holistically and to create methodological foundations for scalable, resource-efficient implementation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">One focus is on the further development of life cycle assessment (LCA). In addition to classic environmental impacts, product-specific effects of individual crops are examined in order to identify ecological hotspots and derive optimization potential. At the same time, a <strong>Live-LCA<\/strong> is being developed in which real-time data from the pilot operation is incorporated into the environmental assessment, making ecological effects directly visible and controllable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">In addition, economic aspects and concepts of <strong>absolute sustainability<\/strong> are integrated in order to evaluate system performance in the context of planetary boundaries. Furthermore, the subproject analyzes spatial and infrastructural location factors and examines cooperation models with urban logistics and supply systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">To safeguard against energy shortages, extreme weather, and technical malfunctions, <strong>resilience and risk analyses<\/strong> are carried out to identify and simulate potential weaknesses of CUBES Circle or RemoteCube. Based on these analyses, a risk management concept is developed that ensures the crisis-proof operation of CUBES Circle and RemoteCube even under extreme conditions.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x-row x-container max width e238-e13 m6m-1 m6m-4 m6m-5 m6m-9\"><div class=\"x-row-inner\"><div class=\"x-col e238-e14 m6m-d\"><span class=\"x-image e238-e15 m6m-l m6m-n\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cubescircle.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1A4F23A7-F6A4-44DC-9EB2-734B0EBDA673_1_201_a.jpeg\" width=\"502\" height=\"804\" alt=\"Image\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/span><\/div><div class=\"x-col e238-e16 m6m-d\"><div class=\"x-text x-content e238-e17 m6m-e m6m-f m6m-j m6m-k\"><p><strong>Prof. Dr.-Ing Christoph Herrmann<\/strong> holds a PhD in mechanical engineering and is a university professor of Sustainable Production and Life Cycle Engineering at the Technical University of Braunschweig. His research focuses on the sustainability assessment of products and industrial processes across their entire life cycle.
